Brand Watch | Mini Rodini / See You Later Alligator SS15

This Mini Rodini Spring/Summer ’15 collection See You Later Alligator is inspired by the fishy life under the aquatic surface. The colours are sea weed green, ocean blue, sand, sunset pink and Florida orange.

Here's Mini Rodini's description of their new even more sustainable collection!

This season, mermaids, mermans, whales, dolphins, sea birds and crocodiles will all cheer when they find out that the beautiful luxurious swimwear collection is made from the finest weave, recycled from PET bottles and other plastic waste. The very same waste that are likely to float around polluting our seas and marine mammals often eat and die.

We have made jackets to wear when sailing in stormy salty waters. Sun hats, caps and shades that protects from the scorching sun when canoeing in the Everglades of Florida. But beware of crocodiles – don’t swim in the swamp! See you later Alligator collection also contains stylishly sustainable dresses, shorts, sweaters, t-shirts and shoes that suits at all occasions, but most practical to wear on dry land.
It’s time to put your super fancy Mini Rodini swimwear, or any other sustainable summer style on and feel proud that you actually are a part of making an environmental change!

As usual Mini Rodini creates fun and playful prints which will be popular among children and parents alike. Luckily there are plenty of great retailers that sell this label around the world so if there is a specific print or size you are looking for there are plenty of opportunity to find it!

After a long hiatus (much longer than anticipated) I am finally back after a big computer crash. It is never easy when your trusty old computer gives up on you and I think my computer finally had enough of all my photos and information and therefor properly died in a glorious freeze frame sort of way. But thanks to a computer savvy husband we manged to get hold of everything and get it over to my brand new computer. It feels good to be back and I can't wait to get this new year started...

Here are some photos from our holidays. It was so nice to have enough days to fully relax on. The kids almost turned into summer wildlings, with salty long hair, barefeet and almost growing gills from spending so much time in the water. These photos was from a rather cool afternoon when we visited one of our favorite spots on the Mornington Peninsula, The Rock seafood restaurant. It is located in Mornington and you can both swim and admire the lovely little harbor from the restaurant terrace.  We had a lovely lunch and after we spent some time on the beach where the kids played with the toys they had brought. It is a good 40 minute drive here but the scenery is wonderful and the trip is totally worth it, it is even better with some take away coffee and big car windows!

I hope everybody has had a good start to the year ! Here's to an adventure filled 2015.

SPOTLIGHT | Knitwear by MICAELA GREG

I know its in the middle of summer here in Australia but when I see great knitwear for kids, I simply have to share. How good are these soft knitted pants from Micaela Greg? It might be the only thing that could make me wish for colder weather! The pants comes in size 12 month up to 5yrs.

Micaela Greg is a knitwear label founded by San Francisco based sisters, Marie and Karen Potesta. The sisters transform spool after spool of yarn into effortlessly cool knitwear by combining modern geometric patterns, intermingling textures, and deceptively simple silhouettes. They strive to design visually bold knitwear, with both an artful quality and boyishly cool aesthetic. The collection is proudly made in California, and constructed of the finest quality Italian yarns with the softest hand feel.

Tropical Oasis | Scotch Shrunk

White, soft sand dunes for as long as your eyes can see. And there... in the distance, camels slowly moving like ships in the dessert ocean. It was the perfect spot to showcase the wonderful colours of this summer season from Scotch Shrunk. The tropical theme is saturated with colour and plant themes mixed with camo and animal patterns. Like the girl collection Scotch R'belle you can mix and match easily with the different garments and colours and there is no fear of going wrong with mixing patterns, they simply all work with each other.

I love how this collection is a tribute to Rio, summer, fun and sun! The wonderful swing tags always seem to have a little surprise and my son loved the little green metal fish that came with the shorts, he instantly tied it to his shorts and there it has stayed ever since.

Moments | Summer Holiday

M wears: Cam mineral universe dress by molo / Gwenneth Cardigan by molo / Backpack by Bobo Choses. D wears: Malik denim sweatshirt by molo / Stash it Shorts by Minti / Tee by Bobo Choses / Backpack by Herschel.

Some moments from the school holidays. Although it can we quite hard to mix working and having kids at home (I am fortunate to be able to shuffle work around and do some evening hours instead) I have to say this summer holiday I am enjoying spending as much time I can with them. At the end of the month both will start school again and the early mornings will begin again, so for now I am telling myself to take it all in and do as much fun things I can with them. We love hopping on our bikes and head off to playgrounds and beaches with a quick stop for an ice cream of course! I love the slow mornings and just figuring out where we want the day to take us and I am sure I will miss that nice slow pace when things get back to routines again. So for now we have stopped watching the time and just let the mood and weather decide where we should go...

Sneak Peek | Finger in the Nose SS15

One of our long time favourite labels, french Finger in the Nose has just released some sneak peek images of their upcoming 15 collection and there is a lot to look forward to! I love the artwork for their prints and their staple denim wear looks just perfect. The slate/warm grey is a weakness for us, its the best basic go to colour and suits both girls and boys. Their great cut windbreaker is also a must and how cool is the space gun tee? Love when a collection hit the mark and you simply can't resist getting a few things... I know I already have a few things in mind! How about you?

Orange Mayonnaise and SpringStof will carry the new collection so keep an eye out on their shops as it will arrive very soon.
